October Poetry Challenge: Day Eleven

How I Tire of Shoulds and Shouldn’ts

Today I was reading a book
A book I’ve already read before
Three times in fact

And someone said, “You shouldn’t reread!
There isn’t enough time to read all the books you want the first time”
And I thought, “Yes, that is quite true”
And then I tucked my nose between pages
And continued my fourth time through

Sometimes
Doing what you shouldn’t when the shouldn’t really doesn’t matter
Is the most delicious rebellion
No one gets hurt and the book gets read (again, and again)

I’d love to see the efforts of your poem in the comments below! I understand that these are first drafts and I hope you offer my humble words the same grace!
Remember, Keep Showing Up!

See you tomorrow for Day Twelve!

I'm rereading a fave book again this weekend 😀 Rereading a favorite book is like visiting an old friend ❤
