October Poetry Challenge: Day Eight

I’ll Bless the Rains Down in Africa

A ringing in my ear
Followed by the most glorious sound
“Darling! How are you?!”

With her gushing voice
And our shared laughter
The painful chasm closes

My best friend no longer feels
2,104 miles away

I’d love to see the efforts of your poem in the comments below! I understand that these are first drafts and I hope you offer my humble words the same grace!
Remember, Keep Showing Up!

See you tomorrow for Day Nine!
