Living Water
Pale rose liquid fills the mug
Steaming and inviting, willing to share its warmth
My cup is full
Sip by sip, the goodness shrinks
Freely given, sometimes stolen
My cup is empty
Debris clings to ceramic
A sad stain echoing previous bounty
My soul’s dregs on display
Say a prayer, rinse them clean
Read His words, pour anew
Filling holiness, diluting dregs

Powerful poem. I love it so much, totally captures that feeling of emptiness. In particular, I loved these lines: ”
My soul’s dregs on display
Say a prayer, rinse them clean
Read His words, pour anew
Filling holiness, diluting dregs”
Especially the first line!!! Love it. It captures how I feel when I’m running on my own fumes and not looking to the Lord. ❤ Praise God for His patience and goodness and love.
