Country Magazine: Photo Feature

The publishing industry is an odd thing. Today I got an email inquiring where to mail my check for my photo feature in the July print issue of Country Magazine. I’d forgotten that I’d submitted anything to that magazine!

Surprise acceptances and rejections are a common phenomenon in the world of publishing. We painfully edit and craft a submission to perfection, click send on the email, and then move on to the next project. Of course there are moments of weakness and inevitable inbox “refreshing” as we hope for an acceptance letter, but more often than not, we forget we submitted at all.

Forgotten or not, I’ll still gladly take my check. It’d be rude not to.

Check out my featured photo and caption below and subscribe to Country Magazine here.

  1. YAY, as always, so proud of you! I remember you sending us this picture, but you can see so much more detail in the magazine spread. I love it and I LOVE YOU! Now you can buy me dinner on our girls’ weekend πŸ˜‰
